BAJAUR:

The official results for constituencies PK-20 and PK-21 in Bajaur have been altered, with the earlier victorious candidates from Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Maulana Waheed Gul and Sardar Khan, now declared defeated. PTI-backed independent candidates, Anwarzeb Khan and Ajmal Khan, have emerged as the winners.

In the final results for PK-20, Anwarzeb Khan secured victory with 12,917 votes. PML-N’s Shahabuddin Khan followed closely in second place with 6,969 votes, while Jamaat-e-Islami’s candidate, Maulana Waheed Gul, finished last with 6,909 votes.

The previously announced results for PK-21 were also overturned. Ajmal Khan emerged victorious with 16,712 votes, while Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Sardar Khan secured the runner-up position with 8,128 votes.

PTI workers organized a three-day protest in Civil Colony Khar, alleging rigging in two provincial assembly seats – PK-20 and PK-21 in Bajaur. Acting on the recommendation of Former Governor Engineer Shaukatullah Khan and other jirga members, a recount of Form 45 was conducted in the presence of all candidates at the Returning Officer’s office. Consequently, Anwar Zeb Khan in constituency PK-20 and Engineer Ajmal Khan in constituency PK-21 were declared successful.
