Deadly Twin Blasts Rock Mosque at Hangu Police Station, 5 Killed, 12 Injured
Two suicide blasts occurred at a mosque inside the Doaba police station in Hangu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing five and injuring 12. The attackers, in a vehicle, faced resistance from police officers at the mosque entrance. One attacker was killed outside, and the other entered. In a separate operation, security forces killed three terrorists in Tirah, Khyber District, following reports of their presence in the area. Pakistan’s efforts in the fight against terrorism were highlighted by Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, who called for recognition of the country’s significant sacrifices.
Additionally, the interim Afghan rulers reportedly arrested 200 suspected militants involved in attacks against Pakistan and took measures to neutralize terrorist activity in bilateral talks with a high-level delegation from Islamabad. This discussion followed a previous incident in which four soldiers lost their lives defending Pakistan Army check posts near the Afghanistan border.
