ANP Leader Advocate Arbab Ghulam Kasi Found Dead in Kuchlak, Balochistan
Advocate Arbab Ghulam Kasi, a prominent leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) and provincial president of the National Lawyers’ Forum, was discovered dead in the Kuchlak area, located approximately 25 kilometers from Quetta, along the Quetta-Chaman Highway, on Tuesday night. His body was found in a remote area of Killi Sheikh Jamal Atozai under mysterious circumstances.
Local residents notified the Kuchlak police after spotting the body. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and transported it to Quetta Civil Hospital. An abandoned gas station nearby contained a pistol, and the deceased had suffered a fatal gunshot wound near the ear. While the police initially considered suicide, the family insisted that it was not a suicide case, revealing that Arbab Ghulam Kasi had left home around 4 pm, indicating he was heading to Quetta. They also mentioned that he had been receiving threats from unidentified individuals.
The police are currently investigating the incident, and the body has been returned to the family and party officials. This marks the second ANP leader killed in the Kuchlak area, following the murder of Obaidullah Kasi two years ago. ANP leaders, including provincial president Muhammad Asghar Achakzai, have strongly condemned Arbab Ghulam Kasi’s killing and demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits.
