Acid attack victim dies from burns
A woman who was attacked with acid in Qabola, Sahiwal has passed away at Jinnah Hospital in Lahore after fighting for her life for 35 days. The incident occurred on April 25 when Robina Bibi (38) went to visit her sister-in-law in Amjad Colony with her husband Noor Ahmed.
While returning alone on foot, she was kidnapped by two men named Shaukat and Ikram. They took her to an abandoned house, attempted to rape her, and when she resisted, they threw acid on her and fled. Passers-by came to her aid upon hearing her cries. Doctors at the District Headquarters Hospital, Pakpattan, reported that 60% of her body and face were burned.
She was later transferred to Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, where she fought for her life but ultimately succumbed to her burns. The victim, Robina, was a mother of four children. The two suspects were apprehended within 48 hours and are currently in judicial custody, facing charges of murder in addition to the initial complaint filed by Noor Ahmed.
