96 Extra-judicial Killings claimed by DIG in Anti-Dacoit Operation

DIG Mazhar Nawaz Shaikh reported to IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon that in the ongoing operation against dacoit gangs in the riverine areas of upper Sindh, 96 dreaded dacoits, including six with head money, have been killed and 434 active gangs busted in Larkana police range alone.

The police have conducted 1,658 encounters with the outlaws and arrested 2,477 dacoits and other outlaws in Larkana, while saving 1,353 citizens from being abducted. Moreover, 301 suspected dacoits and anti-social elements were wounded and arrested. The police have also arrested 11,839 absconders and 15,826 proclaimed offenders.

The arms seized from the outlaws include 100 kalashnikovs, 25 rifles, 481 shotguns, 1,531 pistols, seven hand-grenades, and 7,903 live bullets. DIG Shaikh praised the performance of the Larkana police and was confident about achieving more in the future.

Man arrested for torturing and humiliating wife and brother-in-law in Bahawalnagar

Man allegedly tortures and humiliates wife and brother-in-law by cutting their hair in Bahawalnagar. The couple’s reconciliation attempt failed after family intervention.

The victim’s husband and family held a grudge against her for filing for separation and continued to torture her. The victim’s brother also suffered their wrath.

The incident was reported to the police and the accused has been arrested.

 

Man Arrested for Unleashing Dog on Minor Girl in Muzaffargarh

A man in Muzaffargarh was arrested for setting his dog on a minor girl, causing serious injuries.

The District Police Officer, Syed Hasnain Haider, ordered a case to be registered against the man after taking notice of the incident. The man, identified as David Masih, had a dispute with the girl’s family before unleashing his pet dog on her.

The girl, Mehwish (8), was hospitalized for treatment. Masih was charged under sections 328A and 289 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
