Butcher Arrested for Brutal Saeedabad Murder
Butcher apprehended for murdering woman in Saeedabad, Karachi. A man named Asmatullah was arrested for slitting the throat of Nazia Imran, 40, in her home.
The police recovered the murder weapon, a pair of scissors. According to Keamari SSP Fida Husain Janwari, the suspect, who worked with the victim’s husband, confessed to the crime following a heated argument.
The victim’s husband was at work, and their three daughters were present during the incident. The body was taken to Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi for legal procedures.
President Upholds Penalty for PTV Official in Sexual Harassment Case
President Dr. Arif Alvi has upheld a major penalty against a PTV official for sexually harassing a makeup artist. The official has been dismissed from service and fined Rs1 million.
The decision was made by the Federal Ombudsman for Protection against Harassment of Women at Workplace (FOSPAH). The president rejected the official’s representation against the decision and emphasized the need to send a strong message against such behavior.
The accused had been delaying the proceedings, leading to the decision being based on available evidence. President Alvi stressed the importance of creating safe environments for women in Pakistan. The representation filed by the PTV official has been rejected as it lacked legal grounds.
Multan Police Apprehend Suspects Involved in Brutal Family Murder
The Multan police arrested three suspects following a personal dispute in Basti Malook. Tanveer Akhtar, along with her son Fakhar Ali and daughter Mahwish, were found dead in their rented house on May 1.
A post-mortem examination confirmed they were killed with an axe. After arresting three suspects—Mulazim Husain, Kazim Husain, and Asad Raza—the police discovered that the motive behind the murder was a disagreement over Kazim’s estranged wife.
The suspects confessed to the crime that they fled the scene after wrapping the bodies in blankets.
