Father and Husband Kill Young Wife in the Name of Honour

A young wife was killed by her husband and father-in-law in the name of honor at their residence in Kechi Gabol village near Khanpur Mahar in Ghotki district. 

The victim, Ms. Saima Gabol, aged 20, was strangled to death by her husband Soomro Gabol and his father Gul Hassan Gabol, who accused her of having an extramarital affair. The perpetrators fled the scene after committing the crime. 

The body was taken to taluka hospital where doctors performed a post-mortem before returning it to the family. The victim’s father-in-law, Gul Hassan Gabol, has been detained by police, but no case has been registered against him yet, according to ASI Liaqat Ali Mahar.

 

10 Police Officials Ordered to Register FIR for Child’s Murder During Village Raid

Ten police officials, including a former SHO of Khanpur Mahar, have been ordered by the second additional sessions court of Mirpur Mathelo to have an FIR registered against them for allegedly murdering a child during a raid on a village. 

The police team had conducted the raid 20 days ago in search of criminals and allegedly killed a young girl during torture on the villagers, which sparked a protest by the Gadani clansmen led by Ms Momal Gadani, who accused the police of killing Zainab Gadani. 

Following this, Ms Gadani filed a petition against the police officials at Ghotki sessions court, which was then transferred to Mirpur Mathelo. In another case, two suspects have been sentenced to life imprisonment and ordered to have their properties confiscated by a special judge of Anti-Terrorism Court in Kandhkot for kidnapping a woman in the jurisdiction of Kashmore police station. The convicts were also fined Rs10,000 each before being taken to Sukkur Central Jail.

 

Man Receives Life Sentence for Acid Attack on Woman and Brother in Peshawar

A man from Afghan Colony in Peshawar has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court for throwing acid on a woman and her brother, causing severe burn injuries. The convict, Farhad, was also ordered to pay Rs2 million in compensation to the victims. The attack was carried out on July 1, 2021, after the woman rejected the accused’s demand for an extramarital affair. 

The court found the accused guilty under Section 336(B) of the Pakistan Penal Code and sentenced him to life imprisonment. He was also sentenced to 14 years rigorous imprisonment for injuring the witness, to be served concurrently, and ordered to pay Rs1.5 million and Rs500,000 in compensation to the complainant and the witness, respectively.

 

Two Workers Killed in Second Mine Collapse in Abbottabad This Week

Mine collapse claims two more workers in Abbottabad. Rustam and Niaz were buried alive in a phosphate mine at Tarnawai Qalandarabad. 

The minerals department is being blamed for not ensuring safety measures. This is the second such incident this week, following the death of two workers in a soapstone mine at Sherwan.
