Man arrested for attempting to rape minor
LAHORE: A man was arrested on Thursday in the Chung neighbourhood for allegedly trying to rape a 12-year-old girl.
The victim’s neighbour Mobeen was named as the culprit who was taken into custody. After discovering the girl alone, he led her to a rooftop where he made an attempt at rape. He left the victim and escaped when the victim’s mother went to the roof to look for her.
Police detained the man after receiving a complaint, and they registered a case against him.
Woman attacks husband with acid
TOBA TEK SINGH: On Thursday, a woman allegedly threw acid on her husband while he was sleeping in their residence in Faisalabad’s Samundri tehsil Chak 209-GB. He, however, remained unharmed.
She also attacked him with an axe, hurting him. He was then sent to Chak 134GB Rural Health Centre.
According to the Thirkhani police, Maryam Bibi and her husband Tariq Islam had a marital quarrel, and she struck him in retaliation.
The police are investigating the incident.
Child rapist arrested in Wah
TAXILA: The Wah Cantonment Police stated on Thursday that they had arrested a person who was accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in the Lalazar area a few days ago.
Sub-divisional police officer Mian Afzaal Shah told reporters on Thursday that the nine-year-old girl was on her way to a neighbouring shop to buy some food when the suspect brought her to a plot and raped her before fleeing.
According to him, the police lodged a case and initiated an investigation after receiving a complaint from the victim’s relatives.
