Man strangles dead daughter in Bahawalnagar

A man identified as Allah Ditta, a resident of Basti Bahadurka in Bahawalnagar, strangled his 17-year-old daughter dead for objecting to his bringing women over to their home.

According to the first information report (FIR), the accused’s wife died 10 months ago. Since then, he would bring different women to his home, and was making plans to remarry. His college-going daughter, however, objected to his behaviour, and he would subject her to torture.

However, upon seeing torture marks and rope burn on the body, the girl’s aunts and other local women alerted police. A case has been registered against the primary accused as well as two other men.
