131 women abducted in May

According to a research report, a total of 131 women were kidnapped all across the country in May 2022. Of these 131, 96 women were abducted from Punjab.
The report also stated that the second major crime against women was rape and 58 women were sexually assaulted across the country.

Man, woman killed for ‘honour’ in DG Khan

A man with his accomplice allegedly shot dead his sister and a youth for honour in Dera Ghazi Khan district of Punjab. The two accused later dumped the bodies in a nearby canal. Police have registered the FIR and Rescue 1122 is leading a search operation to find the bodies. The accused are still at large.

CPWB team attacked in Faisalabad

Faisalabad’s Child Protection and Welfare Bureau team suffered violence when they entered a sweet shop to recover two underage children working there. According to CPWB officer Robina Iqbal, more than fifty people tortured bureau members and locked them in a room. She also accused the attackers of damaging an official vehicle. Later, the police reached the spot and recovered the raiding team member and arrested the shop owner and other accused.
