Man kills mother, sister for not preparing bed
A man identified as Nadeem shot dead his mother and injured his sister for not preparing a bed for him to sleep in. The incident occurred in Okara, Punjab. Nadeem had initially locked himself in a room in order to commit suicide, when his mother and sister tried to intervene and entered the room. He then opened fire on both women and then fled.
Lahore police crack down on protesting teachers
A sit-in of government college teachers who had been camping outside the Punjab Civil Secretariat for the past 37 days for better pay and service protection were allegedly violently dispersed by the Lahore Police. In response to police highhandedness, the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) Punjab Chapter called for a “black day” in universities across the province.
Body of Balochistan man recovered from Karachi
The body of a man hailing from Balochistan was discovered in the Mangho area of Karachi. The victim’s hands and feet were tied, and had been shot in the head. Police claim the victim was an addict and he may have been killed by his accomplices.
