Man gets death for murdering wife, child
A court in Rawalpindi has sentenced to death a man for killing his wife and daughter over a domestic dispute.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs1 million on Mujahid Ali, the accused government official who works in the Information Ministry. The convict killed his wife and daughter and placed their bodies in separate rooms of his house and later admitted himself to a hospital as a COVID patient. However, he was arrested later and confessed his crime during the investigation.
Madrassa teacher sets aflame child
A seminary teacher in Toba Tek Singh’s Gojra tehsil has been arrested on charges of dousing petrol on a 10-year-old boy and setting him aflame.
According to police, Qari Abdul Rehman had set aflame the child after failing in his attempt to sexually molest him. The child was admitted to the hospital where his condition is said to be critical due to 50 percent burns on his body. Police arrested the suspect from a village in Faisalabad. The accused confessed to the crime during the interrogation.
Man held for raping woman
Islamabad police have arrested a man on charges of raping and blackmailing a woman after luring her on a job offer.
The woman from Kohat was raped and filmed at a hostel in the federal capital. A second suspect who made a video of the rape is still at large. Police said both suspects were blackmailing her with the videos and pictures.
