Chishtian man arrested for raping daughter

B-Division police on Tuesday, June 8, arrested a resident of Chishtian for raping his 23-year-old daughter multiple times.

According to the rape survivor, her father is an alcoholic and would sexually assault her when intoxicated. She alleged he would threaten her into silence. The woman claimed she had alerted her mother, brothers and other relatives of the assaults, however they did not believe her.

She told police that her father raped once again on Monday, June 7. A medico-legal examination confirmed sexual assault, following which a case was registered under section 376 (punishment for rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). Police have arrested the suspect while results of his DNA test are awaited.

Lahore man kills ex-wife, buries her in his house

One Yousuf Butt allegedly shot dead his ex-wife and buried her in the courtyard of his home in the Fatehgarh area of Harbanspura, Lahore, on Tuesday.

Police were alerted of the crime by the accused’s children after he had fled. According to reports, Butt divorced Zainab due to domestic disputes some years back, following which she married a second time.

On Tuesday, the accused lured the victim to his home on the pretext of reconciling with her, and instead proposed they remarry. Upon her refusal, an argument ensued between the two, which ended in Butt murdering Zainab and then burying the body.

Police were able to unearth the corpse. A case has been registered against the accused, who was found to have a criminal record and was only recently released from jail.

Man murders sister for ‘honour’ in Khurrianwala

Khurrianwala police on Monday registered a case for ‘honour’ killing against one Mohammad Akram, alias Akro, for shooting dead his sister for allegedly being of ‘bad character.’

The incident occurred in Chak 216 Mohammadwala village near Khurrianwala. The suspect had fired upon his 32-year-old married sister when she came over to live with him in his home. The victim succumbed to her wounds during treatment at a hospital while Mohammad Akram is currently on the run.
