Police rescue Kasur minor hours after abduction
A four-year-old Kasur girl who went missing from the limits of the A-Division police station was recovered three hours after her abduction. Abbas’s daughter A special team was formed under District Police Officer Imran Kishwar who monitored CCTV footage and spread word about the disappearance of Abbas’ young daughter. The suspect, Jamil, was traced to Mochi Pura and subsequently arrested while the minor was safely returned to her family.
MOHR states legislation to protect prisoners’ rights in place
The Ministry of Human Rights (MOHR) spokesperson, General Muhammad Arshad announced that the body has fully implemented the Criminal Justice Legal Aid and Justice Authority Legal Act 2020. The act was passed by Parliament on March 24, 2020 and put into effect on October 6, 2020, aiming to provide legal, financial and other means of assistance to prisoners. Additionally, MOHR carried out a consultation on the Criminal Law Amendment Bill and Prevention and Punishment Bill 2018
Differently-abled people demand increase in job quota
Hazrat Wali Shah, Qasim Khan and others spoke at a press conference in Khar, highlighting that the 2% quota in Khyber Pakhunkhwa (KP) for differently-abled people was not being implemented effectively. This has led to many of their community being deprived of jobs. They have appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan, KP Governor Shah Farman and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan to increase the job quota, create special education complexes to assist and train members of their community.
