Three nabbed for child rape, porn in D. G. Khan
Punjab Police on Monday, March 1, arrested three of five suspects for gang-raping minor students of Government High School, Jampur and distributing videos of the assault online. According to the police, the suspects would rape students of the school in Rajanpur district, D. G. Khan and blackmail them to keep silent.
Police have detained suspects Farooq, Rawal (alias Diwan) and Sohail, and confiscated their mobile phone. Investigation is currently underway to ascertain whether or not the gang has any links to an international child pornography ring. Police are also contacting the parents of the rape survivors to initiate criminal proceedings against the accused, however if the families refuse, the police will become plaintiff in the case.
Minor domestic worker found hanged in Lahore
A 12-year-old girl by the name of Maria, who was employed as a domestic worker in Lahore’s Defense Housing Authority (DHA), was found hanged from a ceiling fan in her employer, Dr. Kamran’s home on Monday.
Police were alerted to the ‘suicide’ by the employer’s family. However, upon reaching the scene, police were able to find evidence of foul play and launched an investigation into the circumstances of Maria’s death. Investigators especially noticed that the body’s feet were touching the ground when it was discovered. The deceased has been sent to a morgue for an autopsy, the results of which are currently awaited.
Section 3 of the Punjab Domestic Workers Act 2019 stipulates that no child under the age of 15 years shall be allowed to work in a household in any capacity.
Man rapes blind girl in Toba Tek Singh
A man raped 17-year-old visually-impaired girl in Chak 738-GB, Kamalia, on Monday. According to reports, the rape survivor was staying over at a farmer’s house as a guest. The accused, a neighbor, abducted the girl and sexually assaulted her in his home. Police are on the lookout for the absconded suspect.
