SHC orders action against a man for marrying an underage girl

The Sindh High Court has directed police to file a case against a man under the Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act for marrying a girl below the age of 18 years. Fauzia had approached the court for protection after marrying Noor Nabi in Larkana against the wishes of her parents.

Kohat student beaten over ‘blasphemous’ remarks

A mob of students in the Kohat University of Science and Technology has attempted to lynch a fellow student for allegedly posting blasphemous comments on Facebook last month. The vice-chancellor rescued the student from thrashing and called police to control the unruly mob. The student was later expelled on pressure from fellow students.

Medical board to ascertain Arzoo’s age

The Sindh High Court has ordered the constitution of the medical board to determine the age of Christian teenager Arzoo Raja allegedly forcibly converted and married. Arzoo informed the court that she was 18 years of age. The judges pointed out that the NADRA documents showed her to be a 13-year-old minor.
