Student raped en route to school
A 14-year-old girl has been raped on separate occasions after being abducted on the way to school in Sheikhupura, her mother told police. Police have arrested accused Asif after lodging a case against three suspects on the complaint of the girl’s mother.
Student moves SHC over harassment
A student of a private university in Karachi has approached the Sindh High Court over harassment by the administration of a hostel. In her petition, the student accused administration of a private girls hostel for harassing her.
Plea for transfer of Arzoo case rejected
An application by the father of Arzoo Raja for transferring her case to another court in Karachi has been rejected by the district and sessions court. Raja Masih had alleged that the sessions judge had displayed bias and prejudice while hearing the prosecution’s story in the case.
SC acquits 3 murder accused after 14 years
The Supreme Court has acquitted three people accused in a murder case after 14 years by giving them benefit of doubt. The court held that if the trial court had not accepted evidence from one accused in the case, it could not accept the same evidence for other accused.
