Ex-JI Amir dies of COVID

Shaikh Shaukat Ali, a former Hyderabad Amir of Jamaat-i-Islami, has died of complications from COVID in Hyderabad’s Liaquat University Hospital. He was 80 years old at the time of death and was amongst the three patients who died in the city on Tuesday.

Record positivity rate in Islamabad

The daily positivity rate has reached an astounding 11.78pc after 226 people tested positive out of the 1,917 tests in Islamabad. The administration said the positivity rate is the highest ever recorded since the pandemic started in March while three people lost their lives due to Covid in the past 24 hours.

Lockdown in AJK from 22nd

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to re-implement a two-week total lockdown from November 22. During the lockdown with the exception of essential services like grocery stores, pharmacies, and public transport facilities everything will remain closed.

Daily cases maintain figure over 2000 

The country continues to see a rise in COVID cases with 2,208 new cases and 37 deaths reported in the past 24 hours. The total number of active cases has crossed 30,362 and the total death toll reached 7,230 in the country.
