
Minor boy raped in Shikarpur
A 10 year old orphan boy was abducted, tortured, and raped by two suspects in Shikarpur, Sindh on Sunday, July 26. According to the victim’s relatives, the boy was abducted while he was out playing in the street and then dumped outside his home in an unconscious state after the assault. Police arrested the suspects on the complaint of the victim’s cousin under sections 34 (acts done by several persons In furtherance of common intention), 367-A (kidnapping or abducting in order to subject the person to unnatural lust) and 377 (unnatural offenses) of the Pakistan Penal Code. A civil judge remanded the suspects into police custody for five days.
Man killed for protecting niece from abuse
A man was killed in an attempt to protect his niece from being beaten by her husband in Mauza Wahi Baig area of Khangarh, district Muzaffargarh, Punjab.
According to the police, Salma Bibi had left for her parents whom she had been barred from seeing by her husband, Kashif, with her eight-month-old. Kashif followed in an attempt to bring his wife and child back with him, but upon her refusal, he proceeded to assault her. Salma’s maternal uncle, Shahbaz Hussain tried to intervene, but in his rage, Kashif gunned him down. Police arrested Kashif, and investigations are still underway.

The National Assembly Standing Committee on Information Technology and Telecommunication suggested restricting objectionable content on YouTube rather than banning the entire site, during a discussion on social media regulations and cybercrime. The committee members also suggested enhancing the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) powers to curb cybercrime.
