Donkey-Cart Used As Ambulance

60-year-old Sikandar Khokhar fainted after suffering a heatstroke and was brought to a public hospital in Shikarpur on a donkey-cart on Saturday.

He was declared dead on arrival but the ambulance was still not made available for them so they took the body back on the same cart.

Infected Prisoners

894 prisoners have contracted COVID-19 in Central Jail Karachi so far while 274 have recovered apart from 11 policemen.

620 are still in quarantine while 3,559 prisoners have been screened in total. Karachi Central Jail holds 3,619 prisoners with a capacity of 2,400.

New Testing Facility

World health organisation has provided a PCR testing machine installed at Khuzdar teaching hospital of district Khuzdar, Balochistan.

It will not only provide Covid-19 testing facility to the people of Khuzdar but its neighbouring districts as well. This will add to Balochistan’s testing capacity.

Cases Surge

If people do not strictly follow the SOPs, then the infections could reach over 100,000, said Dr Saleem Abro, DG Health Balochistan on Friday.

Abro also claimed that around 40% of Balochistan’s population is already infected, he warned of peak in COVID-19 cases from July to September.
