LAHORE: A week ago, on International Women’s Day, thousands of women across Pakistan poured into the streets under the banner of Aurat March. Women, transgenders and allies rallied together, sloganeering for equality between sexes, safeguarding women’s rights, and celebrate feminist icons throughout the ages.
In a throwback to this year’s Aurat March, we look at some of the slogans and banners that inspired supporters to keep up their struggle for women’s rights, and outraged the conservative sensibilities of detractors.
