The entire belt of the merged trial districts, formerly known as FATA has been trying to move on from conflicts from the past, but the leftover land mines still buried in unknown areas, continue to take lives, and limbs both.

January 28th, 2021; By Farooq Mehsud; LAHORE; Hundreds of Mehsud tribesmen held a demonstration outside the Deputy Commissioner’s camp office in the Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The tribesmen are protesting the delay in payment compensation for houses damaged in the Rah-i-Nijaat operation in South Waziristan. On January 27, the protesters rode to Tank in vehicles from South Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan, and other areas of KP. The affected tribesmen accused the district administration of corruption saying surveyors had taken Rs 100,000 from each household.
