A sit-in by families of missing persons in Balochistan has entered its third week of protest outside the Governor’s House in Quetta.
Families of missing persons claimed that security forces killed at least five listed missing persons in allegedly staged encounters in Ziarat.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah on Thursday ordered the constitution of a commission, headed by Chairman of the Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, to inquire into and address the grievances of Baloch students.
The IHC on Friday issued notices to the secretaries of defence and interior, the COIED, and the QAU over a petition for recovery of missing student Hafeez Baloch.
According to figures released by the Human Rights Council of Balochistan, only during the month of December 2021, more than 63 people were abducted and are missing while 37 were killed in different parts of the disturbed and turbulent province
"My brother suffers from a bone disease. Since his #EnforcedDisappearance, my mother clutches his medicine in her hands and wails," says Nazia, sister of Amir Baloch, while talking to Munizae Jahangir.
