In a country where only 13% of the girls are still in school by the time they reach the ninth grade, it is not surprising that families do not focus on their education and career.
“They are gone and can't come back," says one of the parents. "But we will strive till the end of our days to see that they get justice." Most of the parents of the children martyred during APS massacre have not reached any closure even after the passage of six years. The only times where they have an opportunity for empathy, is when they all collect to remember their lost children. It is only them who can understand the depth of the grief that consumes them.

Inside sources say that some of the students who were part of the march, particularly those who were leading it had been receiving mysterious phone calls days before the march itself. The unknown callers would threaten them and warned them of dire consequences if the march took place.
