Arrests Made in Okara Railway Station Rape Case

The suspects involved in the rape case at Okara Railway Station have been apprehended. The main suspect and his accomplice were arrested by Pakistan Railways police. Following an initial investigation, the guilty staff members were suspended, and the entire station staff was transferred.

A comprehensive inquiry has been initiated against the accused and other officials. The victim had arrived at the station on May 10 intending to travel to Karachi, where she reported the incident to the railway police. The Railways Police IG, Dr. Rao Sardar Ali Khan, instructed the DIG North to swiftly apprehend the culprits, leading to their arrest. Dr. Khan assured that the police would ensure the accused are promptly punished by the court. The accused were handed over to a Karachi police inquiry team.

Additionally, the PR police have proposed a project to safeguard passengers, particularly women, by installing cameras in coaches and stations and connecting them to a dedicated control room, awaiting approval.

 

Robber Fatally Shot in Clash with Police During Robbery Attempt

A robber was killed in a clash with Chak Jhumra police in Faisalabad on Monday. The police received a tip-off about three criminals involved in looting near the Mor graveyard on Chiniot Road.

When the police arrived, the robbers opened fire, prompting the police to retaliate. One of the criminals, Amer Langoo from Chiniot, was found injured on the ground and later died from his wounds. His two accomplices escaped. The police believe Langoo was shot by his own associates.

 

Police Personnel Accused of Torturing Citizen

Police personnel allegedly assaulted a citizen for refusing to provide free petrol. The incident has caused unrest in the local community. The complainant, Zahoor ul Islam, a student and part-time owner of a fuel filling point, stated that an ASI and other police constables demanded free petrol for their motorcycle.

When Zahoor asked for payment, they verbally and physically abused him, threatening him with serious consequences. Zahoor filed a complaint with the Regional Police Officer, who ordered a prompt investigation by DSP Jand.

Zahoor called for strict action against the police officials, highlighting that such incidents were common in the area and causing frustration among the people. The PRO of Attock police claimed to be unaware of the incident when contacted.
