Police claim man accidentally killed self during search
A man was killed during a routine police check within the limits of Tehkal police station in Peshawar on Friday, January 28.
Officials claimed that the victim was carrying a loaded weapon which he accidentally fired, killing him on the spot. A constable has been arrested and an inquiry committee under the supervision of District Superintendent Police (DSP) Cantt has been formed to inquire the facts of the incident.
Case against four policemen for torturing lawyer
Kahna police have registered a case against four personnel for abducting and torturing a lawyer in Lahore.
According to reports, advocate Farooq was picked up from outside his house and taken to the police station where the accused Arif, Aslam, Tariq and Aslam allegedly subjected him to brutal torture. The victim also claimed that the policemen had snatched Rs. 12,000 from him.
OT attendant, nurses suspended for quack surgeries
An operating theatre (OT) attendant and two nurses of the tehsil headquarters (THQ) hospital in Daska, Punjab, have reportedly been suspended from service after a video of unauthorized personnel performing surgeries on women surfaced online.
The OT attendant, identified as Mohammad Asim, can be seen administering anesthesia and operating on different women for the appendix removal and C-section. Nurses and paramedical staff are also seen present in the OT.
Chief Executive Officer of the District Health Authority in Sialkot, Dr. Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam, has sought a report of the incident from the hospital’s Medical Superintendent (MS).
