SW residents protest delay in compensation

Residents of South Waziristan held a sit-in outside the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly to protest delay in compensation for the 2009 military operation.

Protesters said the government had not paid them for damages to their houses and businesses despite a survey carried out four years ago.

A country-wide sit-in for recovery of Shia missing persons entered its 10th day on Sunday.

The joint action committee organized protests in Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir to condemn enforced disappearances of people from the Shia community.
