PESHAWAR

Since the past decade, the Subhash Educational Complex has been working towards empowering local youth by combining entertainment with education. Voice of Minorities, a singing competition modelled after mainstream talent shows, gives a platform to young people from across religious borders to showcase their vocal talents.

Now in its fourth consecutive season in collaboration with the British Council’s Developing Inclusive and Creative Economies (DICE) programme, the show auditioned aspiring singers from eight districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Abbottabad, Nowshera, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu, and even the Kalash Valley.

The show not only aims to shine a light on the artistic skills of KP’s minority communities but also seeks to promote interfaith peace and harmony in the region. Participants and organizers hope that the federal and provincial governments will help take this show to the national level.
