Kasur policeman nabbed for raping woman
Khudian Khas police arrested on of their assistant sub-inspectors (ASI) for allegedly raping a woman at gunpoint in her home in Bhagwanpura village in Nankana Sahib, Punjab. However, the police claim that an initial medical examination did not indicate sexual assault, however swab samples have been collected for a DNA test. Furthermore, they claim that both the woman and her husband are wanted by Khudian police in fraud and robbery cases.
Two arrested for gang-raping Mardan woman
Mardan police on Saturday, January 23, arrested two men for gang-raping a married 27-year-old woman in the Kharkai area of Mardan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the FIR, on the evening of January 20, the woman was on her way home when Mehran, Hazrat Ali and Talha overpowered her and took turns raping her. On Saturday, police managed to apprehend Mehran and Hazrat Ali who upon questioning named two other accomplices in addition to Talha. Police are now conducting raids to arrest the remaining three suspects.
Man murders daughters to frame wife
On Sunday, police arrested one Abdul Hameed of Dera Ghazi Khan for murdering his two minor daughters, three-year-old Aswa and 18-months-old Urwa, by setting them on fire on January 7 in the limits of Karam Dad Qureshi police station.
Hameed had lodged an FIR against his third wife and her family for killing his daughters. However, upon interrogation, Hameed admitted to pouring gasoline over his sleeping girls and tossing embers on them which sparked a blaze, killing the minors. He revealed that he had committed the crime to frame his third wife and her family. A case has been registered for murder under the relevant provisions, and under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA)
