Four women of a family had been raped in captivity by nine people to avenge a girl’s elopement in Choubara tehsil of Layyah. Police said a woman, her two daughters, and a daughter-in-law were held captive for nine months after being brought to Basti Sabani on the pretext of settling the family dispute over the elopement.

Protest for missing persons

Family members and activists took out a rally in Hyderabad to press for the recovery of missing persons in Sindh. Protesters said cases of enforced disappearance were increasing, calling for the recovery of missing persons, most of whom had not been seen in over two years.

Call for arresting of suspect in a journalist’s murder case

Media workers and activists in Naushahro Feroze have called for arresting the main suspect in the murder of journalist Aziz Memon. Participating in a rally, the protesters said police had not arrested suspect Mushtaq Sahito even nine months after the murder.
