Positivity ratio peaks at 7.46%
The National Command and Operation Centre has said the country recorded its highest virus overall positivity ratio at 7.46 percent. The NCOC said the positivity ratio in AJK stood at 11.45%, Balochistan at 7.73%, Islamabad at 8.09%, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at 9.85%, Sindh at 9.63%, and Punjab at 3.95%.
2,756 new cases, 34 deaths reported
A total of 2,756 new cases along with 34 fatalities have been reported in the past 24 hours. Punjab has confirmed 22 deaths from COVID while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported 367 new cases and 2 deaths in the same period.
Smart lockdown in 17 Hyderabad localities
The Hyderabad administration has placed a smart lockdown in 17 localities till December 5 to contain the spread of the pandemic. People in the localities have been asked to follow standard operating procedures and wear masks.
‘Peshawar, Multan see 200% rise in patients on vents’
The cities of Peshawar and Multan have recorded a 200 percent increase in the number of patients on ventilators in the last 15 days, said Federal Minister Asad Umar. He said the rise in patients on ventilators recorded in Karachi is 148%, followed by 114% in Lahore, 65% in Islamabad in the same period.
