Man, son held for daughters’ murders

A man and his son have been arrested for the murder of his two teenaged daughters in Lahore’s Gujjarpura locality. Manzoor confessed to the police that he along with his son had strangled Kiran and Maryam for refusing arranged marriages as they wanted to marry someone else.

Ahmadi man killed in Peshawar

A 75-year-old man belonging to the Ahmadi minority community has been shot dead in Peshawar. Police said Mahboob Khan was gunned down at a bus stop in Sheikh Mohammadi area and filed a case against unidentified assailants.

App for women security

Women in Punjab can get help in any emergency from Police Helpline 15, Rescue 1122, highway police, and motorway police on a click by using Punjab Police Women Safety App. IGP Punjab Inam Ghani has requested all women to download the Punjab Police Women Safety App on their mobile phones and register themselves.

Karak miners protest price hike

The mineworkers in Karak have held a day-long strike to protest against record-high inflation in the country. The miners boycotted work saying they could not afford two-time meals for their families. They complained that the contractors were paying them fewer wages.
