Brain Damage Observed in Virus Patients

University College London has published a study in which researchers observed 43 COVID-19 patients cerebral impacts, including brain damage, nerve damage and strokes. Experts alarmed that recovered patients may develop cognitive defects which will seriously impact their daily life as the virus continues to infect millions in the now.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization has issued warnings that the virus may travel further than previously through the air. The warning comes after new evidence emerges suggesting the pandemic is able to spread far faster and far more easily.

Committee to Prevent Virus Misinformation

The National Command and Operation Center has constituted a committee spearheaded by the Federal Interior Minister, Brigadier (R) Ijaz Shah, to curb the spread of misinformation regarding the pandemic and to ultimately buffer the government’s COVID-19 awareness campaigns. The committee will prepare a legal schema and suggest penalties against those found to be spreading false information.

6,000 Recover in 24 Hours

With 6,008 recoveries in the past day, Pakistan’s recoveries climb to an encouraging 145,311. The ratio of recoveries now sits at 60.3% while deaths remain at 2.1% with a total of 4,983 recorded up till July 8.
